"New Body" is an unreleased track by Kanye West, intended to be released on his scrapped Yandhi album. Most recently, it was to feature Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.
The track is produced by Ronny J and features a repeating flute melody and bass line with heavy drums throughout the track. Lyrically, the song touches on the subject of body and slut shaming, which West thought he needed to address on the album.
On an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, West is shown in the studio working on a track about body shaming and calls up Nicki Minaj for a feature. Kim Kardashian personally worked to get her in the studio and perform on the song.
After Yandhi was scrapped and West was working on his Christian themed Jesus Is King album, the vocals on the track were re-recorded to instead talk about the body of Christ instead of the physical body of a woman. This version of the track was premiered at his Detroit listening party for the album, this time without a verse from Minaj. This version of the track was ultimately never finished, with Minaj not completing her verse due to creative differences with the new direction of the track.
